Excellence in tube swaging

Multiform Tubes is based in the West Midlands and works incredibly hard to deliver only the finest of tube swaging services to our clients. By working to alter the tubes, we can create models to fulfil applications in a plethora of different sectors. Whether you need the right tubing for railings, furniture or heating for example, we promise to produce fantastic results in a timely and professional manner.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the practice, tube swaging is a process used to reduce or increase the tube’s diameter. A swaged piece is created by placing a length of tubing inside a die which applies compressive pressure through rapid hammering. Further expansion or swaging can be achieved by placing a mandrel inside and applying radical compressive forces to the outer diameter. As a result, the inner diameter can be a different shape, like an octagon, with the outer one remaining the original shape.

The process of adapting a piece of tubing requires a great deal of care and precision. This is vital because a mistake can ruin the whole piece, resulting in a poor shape, the wrong wall thickness, or other flaws. Fortunately we take caution and work carefully with each piece of tube to ensure it is accurate and finished to a high standard.

At Multiform Tubes we undertake multiple tube manipulation duties in addition to the swaging process, including drilling and ring rolling to name some. All of our tubes are made of materials that are ideal for our line of work, such as steel, copper and brass. We have the skills to work with each one, accounting for the characteristics to create the best products.
