How does tube reduction work?

Another fact about rotary reduction is that it can tube layer. It is here where tubes made of separate materials can get reduced together. The result is a sandwich effect that can increase strength whilst enabling the use of specific materials.

As for hydraulic end forming, it employs a static forming die as well as clamps. Using them, you can form tubes that are up to 5.5″ in diameter. This is much bigger than what you can reach with rotary reduction.

Using both methods, the wall thicknesses can reach 5mm. This is unless reduction happens through hot rotary. Tubes can be thicker here as the heat makes them more pliable.
