Understanding the characteristics for tube bending

Many customers have come to us looking for first-rate tube bending services. It’s fair to say that we haven’t disappointed them. Our team use their talents to create some of the best tubing in the industry. It doesn’t matter what you need the tubes for; we’ll see to it that they tick all of the right boxes.

There’s only one way you can really comprehend the optimum design features for tube manipulation and bending. This is to look at the techniques. There are two methods we’re going to examine here.

Draw bending

The mechanisms for this technique can be computer numerically controlled or simply numerically controlled. The most important thing is that your bending apparatus must grip the tube exactly. This is so that you can pull it around the bend. As such, the tooling has to be precise to the tube’s external diameter. Additionally, the central former around which you draw the tube needs to equal the necessary bend. As a result, your tooling has to be accurate to the bend radius of the finished tube.

Roll bending

You might require an incredibly gentle curve. In such cases, draw bending is impractical. This is when people turn to roll bending. Here, you usually push the tube through three rollers. When the rollers are delicately resting on the tubing, the utensil shall pass through them without a bend forming. As the roller pressure goes up though, the tube will start deforming. The higher your pressure levels, the tighter the bends.
